Travel Kettles Reviews – Travel Containers

Tea and coffee with condensed milk and ice are my favorite drinks. I love the flavors and the scents of daisy and jasmine tea so much, but neither is provided at hotels when I travel. My solution for not missing my drinks is bringing a kettle and my own drinking products. I love coffee that is grown in my parents’ garden. It tastes completely different from that in a hotel, a restaurant or from any coffee shop.

It sounds complicated and inconvenient if you have to travel with bulky things that occupy so much space of your luggage. Well, no one would like to do so and I’m not an exception. People are very creative, they make products that serve our needs better and better. If you have a compact kettle which is collapsible, will you pack it to make your own favorite drinks?

Today, I am going to write my reviews about travel kettles that are foldable, easy to use and light weighted. They are great for both traveling and at-work uses. You can even put them in your purse and backpack so neatly.

Travel foldable electric kettle 1

  • Best place to get: Amazon.com
  • Material: Food grade silicone
  • Capacity: 0.6 liter or 2.5 US cups
  • Voltage: 110 – 240V
  • This item goes with a silicone collapsible cup as a set. That is cool.
  • My recommendation: Yes

  • It uses dual voltage with international plugs so that you convert to the correct electricity current in the country in which you are.
  • An instruction manual is included in the package.
  • When it is being used, the lid and the handle won’t get hot. Only the body becomes very warm, but don’t worry because silicone is safe in high temperature.
  • The handle is strong.
  • This kettle turns off by itself after it shows 100 Celsius degrees for a few minutes.
  • A compact, light and food graded one.
  • Water will boil quickly.
  • You can set a “keep warm” mode if you like.
  • It is a good quality kettle and doesn’t make odor to the water cooked in it.
  • Easy to wash.

  • When water is boiling, it doesn’t whistle to indicate it is done. However, the temperature shows up and we all know the boiling point is 100 Celsius degrees.
  • There is no measurement in Fahrenheit, but only Celsius instead.
  • It can’t be used on a camping trip since there will be no electricity.
  • The manual for instruction of usage is in Chinese. Fortunately, it is easy to use. You just put water in, plug in and press the right button to turn it on.

I think those disadvantages are not big deals.

Travel foldable electric kettle 2

  • Best place to buy: Amazon.com
  • Material: Food grade silicone
  • Capacity: 0.5 liter or 2.1 US cups
  • Voltage: 110 – 220V
  • The set contains 2 cups which also can be folded.
  • My recommendation: Yes

  • Dual voltage for international use.
  • Boils water fast.
  • Easy to use.
  • The kettle turns off automatically when it is done.
  • Convenient for travel.
  • Good quality.
  • There is English in the instructions. I like this.
  • You can turn back to the “keep warm” mode. The adjustable knob is used for temperature control.
  • The handle is designed to be foldable,
  • An amazing feature of this new design is you can use it to warm up a bottle of milk if you have babies. Just put a milk bottle in the kettle with hot water.
  • Easy to wash.

  • It doesn’t give an indication of water boiling by whistling, but it turns off by itself when done.
  • Due to the fact that it needs to plug in electricity, this kettle is not for camping.

Collapsible kettle for camping and outdoors space

The third one in my reviews is somewhat different form the two previous. This is also made out of silicone and can be folded to a quite flat mode. This portable tea or coffee maker is really good to carry from place to place, but it has to use a gas cooker to boil water. Below are the advantages and disadvantages.

  • Very light and flat after being collapsed. It is good when you have to move a lot.
  • The handle is rotatable and folded.
  • Can be used outdoors when you have a gas cooker, but not electricity.
  • The cost for the product is low.

  • Can’t be used in a hotel to make your tea or coffee because it is not electronic unless you have an electric cooker.
  • After being collapsed, there is a white line around the body appearring, so you don’t know if that will lead to leaking someday.
  • It doesn’t whistle when water boils.
  • The lid becomes hot.
  • I am not sure if it does okay on an open camp fire. I am afraid the fire will burn or deform the silicone parts.

My recommendation: Yes and No. It depends on your need and your budget.

To sum up my reviews, I would suggest that before you use any of these kettles, you should boil water, rinse it and pour that water away the first time to make sure it is cleaned.

According to my research, the first 2 seems to be the best travel kettles of all. People have enjoyed using them, they can make their loved tea and coffee anywhere possible.

Metal containers are good in some aspects. Imagine if you have to carry them on a trip, it will definitely be uncomfortable. Therefore, silicone containers are great options for anyone who has to move a lot and doesn’t want to miss their own beverages.

I hope these reviews at least are helpful in some way that meet your searches for a travel or camping kettle. There are so many kinds of collapsible kettles in online market platforms, but I never intend to recommend the low quality ones to my readers.

If you have any comments or questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

Thank you so much for reading my reviews.

All the best to you.

  1. people tend to love things in special ways, how it tastes, the scent, the colors etc. Tea has always been man’s companion for a long while now. People take it for medicinal purpose or just to quench their thirst. So what do you do when you travel and you can’t hoard all your teas plus kettle in a luggage? You need travel kettles which helps you store the tea and as well help save space on your luggage!! You couldn’t ask for anything better.

    • HI Peter,

I agree with you. Thank you for your thoughts and reading my reviews.

      Wishing you all the best.

  2. Wow! Until I came across your site, I wasn’t even aware that foldable kettles for travelling were a thing! As you say, products are improving all the time. I can’t wait till they can make these in a larger capacity though, these are too small for a family unfortunately

    • Hi Josie,

These kettles make enough tea or coffee for a few people at a time. A full family would have to boil a few batches of water. I hope they will make bigger sizes soon to serve people more conveniently.

Thank you for visiting my site and your idea.

      All the best to you.

  3. Wow! Foldable electric kettle, I never knew this exist as am reading about it for the very first time, thanks for sharing this piece of information. I would like to ask, Can this kettle be used in boiling eggs? How many liters of water does it contain? And can it be folded to fit in a back pocket of a jean?

    • Hi Abiola,

I am glad to be able to help you. You can boil eggs in this kettle. Remember to put eggs in it when the water is not warm yet. If you put eggs in when the water is hot, it will break the eggs. Usually, it contains 0.5 liter or above depends on what kettle you use. I have that info in the post. You can also see the descriptions of each kettle that the sellers or manufacctures provide. It is foldable and you can put in your purse and certainly in your backpack, but not in a pocket of jeans.

Thanks for asking questions and wishing you all the best.

  4. Great post. I’m chanced to purchase one of these hot water kettle and I was very surprised at how it works. It had a weekend trip and was perfect. It was great. The water needed for a reusable Starbucks cup is approximately exact. Crafted very simple and easy coffee and warm tea on the road.

    • Hi Chrome,

    • Hi Boluwagg,

It is obvious that so many people love their own tea and coffee. I am happy to know you also use a travel kettle that really works.

I would like to help people get a quality kettle with a good deal. These are not sold by me. I recommend them to people who need them and they can get them directly from the sellers.

Thank you for sharing your experience about your kettle and reading my reviews.

      All the best to you.

  6. When i first saw this on your article “Tea and coffee with condensed milk and ice are my favorite drinks” my mouth watered i really felt like drinking that because i love it so much also. But anyways, it will be useful for me in some other cases. I would like to know if this kettles are for good, i mean, it stays good for a long time?
